«Für There Is No Beginning and No End hat Fiona Léus 1998 sechs Tage einem 'Orgien Mysterien Theater' des Künstlers Hermann Nitsch im österreichischen Prinzendorf beigewohnt. Als eine der wenigen erhielt Léus für dieses Ereignis eine Filmerlaubnis. Sie kennt Nitsch' Arbeit sehr gut. Sie war Studentin in seiner Malklasse und hat das 'Orgien Mysterien Theater Lesebuch' ins Englische übersetzt. Mit einem vertrauten Blick auf das Ganze, der trotzdem beobachtend und distanziert bleibt, erzeugt sie eine eigene filmische Komposition des Ereignisses. 'I believe that I have worked with the eye of a painter here. The images are reminiscent of so much seen in the history of painting. The colours and the sensuality of the images are very important.' So sieht man in kalkulierter Abfolge Trauben, Blumen, tierische Eingeweide, Glocken, Menschen die beobachten und Menschen, die an der Inszenierung teilnehmen und mit christlichen Motiven, mit Blut und geschlachteten Tieren agieren.» Millena Gierke

Although filmed at a sport event this is not a sport film. It is a study of bodily movement and the concentration required to carry it out to perfection. It is connected to a fascination with flying, defying the element that the human body is not naturally equipped to conquer. The film makes use of the film transportation speed changes that lead to us being able to see actions in a different way to that of the naked eye.

In Xin-Hui, einer Kleinstadt im Süden von China: Menschen gehen und fahren mit dem Fahrrad eine Straße entlang – auf die Kamera zu und an ihr vorbei. Wo das Bild scharf ist, werden die Passanten in Zeitlupe aufgenommen. Durch diese «Lupe» sieht man das Fremde an ihnen anders und genauer.
